Sarah Akhtar
Sarah first discovered yoga in college when a friend introduced her to a set of yoga flashcards. Getting into Warrior II, she was immediately drawn to the strength and power she felt, but also how fun it was. In her classes, Sarah strives to create a similar experience for her students; helping them to tune into their inner power and strength, she hopes they fully enjoy their practice. She sees yoga as a tool for self-discovery and self-love.
Approaching her own practice and body with acceptance and compassion, Sarah infuses her classes with these principles. She believes that the pose should fit the body instead of the body trying to fit a pose. Using a medley of props to support the body and specific alignment cues to break down poses into simpler steps, she makes sure her classes are accessible to everyone.
A graduate of Bo Forbes’ Mind-Body Elemental Yoga Program, Sarah looks forward to deepening her understanding of the the life-changing power of yoga by teaching and exploring the mind-body connection on and off the mat.
